Spring Education 2016
Updated: Jan 24
I've been very lucky to take so many amazing classes this spring! I started my education tour (or at least that's what it feels like) in Houston taking Updo Upgrades at the Aveda Institute this February. There I was able to practice a lot of modern, textured, flowing updos and learn some new techniques!
Then at the end of March, I made my way down to San Antonio to learn from the lovely Cherry Dollface at Broadway Pin Ups. She is truly a doll! She is known mostly for her Youtube demos but also is a renown model, hairstylist, and makeup artist specializing in vintage styles. During my class she demoed two different pin up bombshell looks.
My last most recent class was all the way in Las Vegas being taught by His Vintage Touch! I was in Vegas for the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekender (more on that to follow) and once I heard he was teaching I had to make my way to see him. I've been following him and swooning over his work for years. He is known for his vintage styling, especially the 40s esque glamorous waves. His work is mostly seen in the catalogs of Pin Up Girl Clothing, The Ru Paul Drag Race's star Violet Chachki's wigs, and more recently stars like Andra Day and even Dita Von Teese. In this class he demoed three different smoldering, retro looks on models.
I'm sure you can only imagine my excitement to put all of my newfound hair knowledge into execution!
