This year I was honored to be asked to be an artist for an Elevate Hair show here in Austin, TX. Elevate Hair is an industry hair show where various artists present some sort of look onstage as a demo for others in the cosmetology field. The show is also held in usually a nightclub setting (in this case, the North Door) and has a live DJ set while the stylists are doing their thing.
The best part was that it was their first ever Halloween costume themed show! So not only did I get to dress up (which I LOVE) but it was also a great excuse to do a spooky look as my demo. My husband and I are big fans of the movie and series "What We Do In The Shadows", which inspired my vampire look. My Hauntley Harlequin Bat Dress from Hell Bunny was perfect for my costume.

The Inspiration of my look was a more Gothic take on Halloween pinup images from the 1920s. I just love that extra level of spooky those images have with the black and white photography and sometimes practical effects from the period.
The finished results from my look. The waves were created with a curling iron and brushed into the style. Makeup also by me for that dramatic 1920s screen siren look. They had the perfect little photo op set up for us to use with these little spiders. The fit the ambiance of my look perfectly!
I had a wonderful time seeing what the other artists had in store and was happy to be a part of the show. Thank you again Elevate for having me!
